Due to the nature of this wonderful year of 2020 and the impact it’s had on the financial situation of the club, the Board has had to make some adjustments to the usage of the SEDA Bucks, effective immediately. We will re-evaluate at a future date should the financial situation of the club improve. Thanks for understanding: we sincerely hope the adjustment is short-term. Please note the change in the verbiage, highlighted in red:
Beginning with the 2019 show year, for every four hours (4) worked beyond the four (4) hours required to qualify for Year End Awards, SEDA will award $10 in SEDA Bucks that may be used toward fees for any SEDA-sponsored schooling or educational event (SEDA-sponsored show, SEDA-sponsored clinic, SEDA-sponsored educational event). SEDA Bucks may not be used for licensed events. SEDA Bucks will be awarded at the end of each membership year in the form of a certificate, in multiples of $10, and will be distributed at the annual Awards Banquet. If a member does not attend the Awards Banquet, their certificate(s) will be mailed to them. Members may accumulate SEDA Bucks, but no more than $50 in SEDA Bucks may be used at one time or at one event.
Congratulations to Meredith Hunter who was selected as the recipient for the Adult Fall SEDA Scholarship. We look forward to hearing about Meredith’s experiences! There were no applicants for the Junior Scholarship.
We all know how essential volunteers are to our events. SEDA is in need of someone to take on the role of Volunteer Coordinator. Tasks will include: working with show organizers to fill and schedule all volunteers needed, follow up with volunteers to ensure they arrive, being on hand (or appoint someone if you can’t be there) to serve as a point of contact for volunteers at the show, tracking volunteer hours. If this sounds like something you’d like to take on, please contact Nicole.
The Southern Eventing and Dressage Association (SEDA) is proud to represent all of its members, be a resource for the equestrian community, and to support inclusivity in all aspects of sport. We strive for continual improvement in our sports and our organization. We believe we are stronger together.
Putting on Fleur de Leap is a lot of work. In an effort to make the process smoother and not so overwhelming, we are forming a committee. If you’d like to help and be part of the future of our Fleur de Leap shows, please contact Emily (eventing@sedariders.org).
One of the ways to earn volunteer hours is by getting sponsors for SEDA. Consider sponsoring something yourself or asking people or businesses you know to sponsor our events. Use the SEDA Sponsorship Flyer for additional information. The earlier in the year we obtain sponsors, the more exposure they will get…and we want to give our sponsors LOTS of exposure!
